Universal track<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The black anodised aluminium profile rail can be used for a variety of purposes. It is used as a track for motion experiments and as an optical bench for experiments on imaging and diffraction. It can also be used as an inclined plane, as a track for friction experiments and as a stand for experiments in MECHANICS and ENERGY. The millimetre scale is screen-printed in scratchproof white ink and allows for highly accurate experiment results. The zero point is about 15 cm from the end to make the equations for optical imaging and motion easier to derive. In the OPTICS sets, the object to be imaged is directly above the \u201c0\u201d mark and in the MECHANICS sets, the first light barrier is set up at the same point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Wall mounting for universal tracks<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The universal tracks can be stored practically in a cupboard stacked lengthways on a shelf or, in order to save space, can be suspended from a wall mounting. The mounting consists of an aluminium rail, 50 cm long with 5 supports each capable of carrying 5 universal tracks.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Sound tubes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    For the experiments in ACOUSTICS 2, in particular experiments on sonic radar and determining the velocity of sound in air, two tubes of differing lengths but the same diameter are needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Universal stand<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The MEKRUPHY universal stand functions both as a tripod and retort stand. It can be dismantled and used in a variety of different configurations. It is usually kept ready assembled in the cupboard, but can also be stored in the smallest of spaces if need be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The 8mm-thick steel base plate ensures that the stand remains stable even when loaded unevenly. It has a threaded hole into which a retort stand rod can be screwed. This can be extended using an additional rod as required. The stand ring with the wire mesh with integrated ceramic surface can be set to the desired height by adjusting the bosshead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
