Experiment set ELECTRICS 2 plus
Electrostatics in any humidity
Whereas the experiment set ELECTRICITY 1 allows students to carry out all the fundamental experiments on electric circuits, ELECTRICITY 2 plus covers the topics:
- electrostatics
- magnetostatics
- electromagnetic induction
- magnetic field of a coil
- Lorentz force
Unlike the ELEKTRIK 2 experiment set, the plus version of the experiment kit also enables student experiments on the magnetic field of a coil and on the Lorentz force. Through the careful selection of suitable materials and the corresponding construction of the device parts, all experiments on electrostatics are successful even at very high humidity.
Amazingly distinct magnetic field lines
Specially grained iron filings in conjunction with a suitably designed perspex platform ensure that magnetostatics experiments produced remarkably distinct lines of force which even allow the three-dimensionality of the field to be detected.
Right to the nub of electromagnetic induction
Using the 100-mV range of the AMM 300 analog multimeter, with its calibration capability for setting the zero point in the centre, the experiments introducing students to magnetic induction and AC generators are particularly impressive.
Finding out about the laws of transformers can also be fun with this experiment set, though.
Accessories required
The necessary multiple measurement and low-voltage power supplies, which can also be used for other experiment kits, are not included in the ELEKTRIK 2 plus experiment kit. The eddy current set is also required for the student experiment on eddy currents.
Supplementary materials
In addition to the ELEKTRIK 2 plus experiment set, a student workbook and a teacher’s guide with background information and solutions are also available.
